Translation: Interview with AKB48 in Jakarta
Translation from this
On February 26th, Doki Doki Station got a chance to do an interview with AKB48 members which are:
Takahashi Minami, Miyazawa Sae, Sashihara Rino, Yamauchi Suzuran, Abe Maria, and Kawaei Rina.
bold = question/member’s name
() = personal blabs lol
Looks like many AKB member had their first time come to Indonesia, what do you think about this country?
Rina: I think Indonesians are kind and warm
Sae: On the way from the airport, I saw many trees and rivers, so I feel like Indonesia is similar with Japan
Takamina: This is the second time I’ve come here. When I saw many fans gathering to welcome us in the airport, seeing them who always support AKB48 and JKT48, make me feel so happy. (twice time taka to the same crappy music show too)
Sasshi: I second their opinions, warm and pleasant. But for me, the most interesting thing is the delicious food, chou oishikute!! Everytime we going abroad, I always worry about the taste of the cuisine of the country we’ll visit.
What’s the most delicious?
Sasshi : [Indonesian] Fried noodles meccha oishii! I eat it everyday *everyone laughs*
Takamina: Enak…enak (its Indonesian of “delicious” Taka had learned new word lol)
Yamauchi: I’m so surprised with the size of the hotel room. In Japan, a single room, although its shared for three people, it only has two beds. But here, (the hotel they stayed in Jakarta) everyone can get their own room. There are rooms inside a room!
Takamina: Feels like home, right?
Yamauchi: Yes, feels like home. Sugooooi!!! *claps hands and everyone laughs*
Abe: Initially, I thought Indonesia is still a green nature country. But when I arrived in Jakarta, I didn’t expect would see many ads billboards and skyscrapers. I’m glad seeing Indonesia actually a developed country. (umm…actually its still developing one lolz)
For non-Japanese, Idol Group with such numerous members is a pop culture that you can only find in Japan. AKB48 now has been labeled as number one idol group in Japan also trusted as a Japanese pop culture ambassador for introducing Japan culture overseas. What do you think, and what’s your opinion about Japan Pop Culture?
Takamina: Japan pop culture indeed a very unique one. Like you said, I think you can only find idol group with numerous members in Japan. I will be so happy if everybody get interested in Japan culture with AKB48 as a trigger, so they can accept Japan culture where idol is the part of it.
What do you think about pop culture itself? I mean like anime, manga, music, or cosplay.
Takamina: I really love it.
Sasshi: Idol desuyo *everyone surprised and laughs* I really love idols. Do you know Hello Project? (sasshi eternal wota lol)
Of course :)
Sasshi: I really love Morning Musume from Hello Project. They are all so energetic, I entered AKB48 cause I want to be like them. Back then I wanted to join Hello Project *laughs*. But about how idols could be made, I think that’s the great point of Japan pop culture.
Takamina: “…and the fact of actually people worldwide also like what do we like makes us really happy.”
As the member of AKB48, you all have very busy schedules. Not only in stage performances but also as entertainers in many variety shows. Does it affect your daily life? And how do you manage time for your personal life and doing your hobby or such?
Takamina: Actually I could be more glad if I have many works. Otherwise I feel uneasy. Anyway, what do you do for relaxing? *asking Rina*
Rina: At home? Mmmm rolling (on the bed? under kotatsu?) while relaxing…*everyone laughs at her simple answer*
Yamauchi: I’m eating in the bathtub
Takamina and other members: Eeeeee…!!! *everyone surprised*
Yamauchi: I have television inside my bathroom. While watching the TV I bring lunch, snacks, and yoghurt. That’s the way I’m relaxing
Takamina: Maji de?! Sugoi! Bikkurishita…. *everyone laughs*
Sasshi: This isn’t Japan culture. *everyone laughs again*
How about Sashihara-san? Is that right with “memancing”? (Since she stepped in Jakarta, she always said “memancing” so everyone thinks she likes fishing) (memancing = fishing)
Sasshi: Aaa….memancing.
Takamina: Have you ever gone fishing?
Sasshi: Never.
Everyone: Eee…!?
Really, never?
Sasshi: I don’t like fishing. *everyone laughs* (why always Sasshi’s answer makes everyone laughs)
Then, why you always said “memancing” on the stage? (Jakarta concert)
Sasshi: The reason why I always say “memancing” it’s because I got an Indonesian study book from the fans, then I tried to memorize some easy words. Indonesian words usually long and hard to memorize one (not really lol :p) Then someday I found a word that’s easy to remember and it consists of 5 katakana characters, that’s “memancing” Ah, yatta! I think. *everyone laughs again for the nth time*
I thought Sashihara-san’s hobby was really fishing.
Sasshi: Eeee!? No hobby, no hobby.
